Privacy Law- California

It should come as no surprise that Califonria, home to so many celebreties, is a US state that has concerns regarding the behaviour of paparazzi, especially when the Californian governor is a former film star who presumably has had experience of being on the receiving end of their attentions. In any event, another blog, Inforrm, handily summarizes some of the main provisions of a new law (AB2479). As well as dealing directly with privacy claims and remedies, the law increases penalties for false imprisonment and dangerous driving by members of the paparazzi. This aims to curtail the means by which the paparazzi go about their business.
